Any Problems With DuraTouch Stock? Registered Users do not see the above ad. I have a Browning ABolt II Varmint Stalker with the DuraTouch coated stock..this past deer season while hunting in a pouring rain, the DuraTouch coating started peeling off in my bare hand.

Browning took care of my SX3 stock and a friends Browning auto with syn stock, no problems. Call Browning and ask for the parts dept. If you registered your guns, it is without issue. They replaced my stock and forearm as second owner. Browning handled the issues as well as any warranty I have every experienced. The new stock and forearm were made of the same hard plastic as the newer models and the pattern matched the barrel and receiver perfectly. I was told they did not try to replace with a duratouch stock because they have not figured out the cause of the sticky problem. The service by Freer and Browning/Winchester was worth the 8 month wait. After 2 yrs of frustration of trying to remedy the 'sticky stock' (Browning Gold Camo 20 ga), I used Goo-Gone to strip the gummy finish and applied a spray spar varnish. It sealed the finish; looks ok-not great; but the gun which is a good shooter is usable again.

I own a Browning Gold 10 ga, that ended up with some butt stock damage due to over tightening the retaining screw. So I ordered a new replacement stock, from the aftermarket Browning parts place. They only had a "Dura-Touch" Mossy Oak something stock, and my gun was a black stalker, that I rattle can camoed, for open water hunting in a layout boat.
